Kathmandu: Nepal promotional campaign concluded in four major cities of China - Chengdu, Guangzhou and Hangzhou and Beijing.

Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) has been promoting Nepal in China regularly in cooperation with NTB for the last several years.

NATTA organized a promotional program on Wednesday in the capital city of People’s Republic of China during the last leg of it’s 11-day promotional trip to China.

On the occasion, General Secretary of China Chamber of Tourism Xu Lejiang, Nepali envoy to China and high level officials, 65 Chinese tour operators, media representatives and local tourism dignitaries attended the function.

Nepal’s envoy and NTB officials highlighted Nepal’s tourism products in the program.

Addressing the function, Ambassador L.M. Poudyal urged Chinese travellers to visit Nepal. Nepal has great expectations for a socio-economic transformation from China’s initiatives on OBOR (One Belt, One Road) , he added.

Xu Lejiang, General Secretary of China Chamber of Tourism, committed to support Nepal in its efforts to attract more Chinese tourists in Nepal. ‘ CCT and NATTA will  jointly introduce strategies to promote Nepal in China ’,he said.

NATTA  President Madhu Sudan Acharya underscored the importance of tourism  as a bridge to bring the people of both the countries to a close proximity.

Chinese tour operators were interested to get information on various tourism products of Nepal with Nepali  travel trade entrepreneurs during  B2B session held in Beijing , according to a statement issued by NATTA.

Earlier, Nepali delegation had interaction with Chinese tour operators and travel agents in Hangzhou.

On the occasion, honorary consul of Shanghai Jiangming Hu said Nepal is not only the abode of majestic mountains but also the birthplace of the Gautam Buddha.

‘Nepal could attract more Chinese tourists, because China stands second in the world to send its citizens as tourists abroad,’ he said.

NATTA Chairman and team leader Acharya said the exchange of tourists would strengthen people-to-people friendship between the two countries.

Similarly , Li Jian Dep, director general of Foreign Affairs Office, Guangdong Provincial Government, and Mao Cheng, vice-chairman of the Tourism Administration of the Guangdong Province extended their best wishes for the success of the Nepalese Mission and assured that the province will encourage their citizens to visit Nepal at a program held in Guangzhou.

More than 200 Chinese tour operators including  media representatives, airlines operators and non-resident Nepalese living in Guangzhou participated in the program.

A total of 32 travel trade personalities and officials participated in the Nepal-China Sales Mission, organized by NATTA and supported by Nepal Tourism Board and Nepal Embassy in China among others.

Travel trade entrepreneurs of both the countries opine that the sales mission marathon to Chengdu, Guangzhou, Hangzhou and Beijing and promotional programs held there would encourage Chinese tourists to visit Nepal.
